Using a protein shaker bottle is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to mix protein powders and other supplements into drinks. If you are new to using a protein shaker, it's important to understand the basics of how to properly use your bottle.

The most important step when prepping a shake is selecting the right liquid. To get your desired consistency, choose between milk, water, juice, or whatever liquid you plan on using with your protein powder. Once your liquid has been selected, add 1-2 scoops of your preferred protein powder. Make sure not to overfill the bottle – leaving plenty of room for air and shaking – as too much powder may clog up the straw.

Securely fasten the lid onto the bottle so that it is tight and won't accidentally come apart while shaking. While keeping one hand on top of the lid and stopper, use your other hand to quickly start shaking side-to-side for 15-20 seconds and up-and-down for an additional 30 seconds. This will ensure that all ingredients have been blended together properly without any chunks or clumps. If any lumps remain after this time has passed then you can simply pour through a sieve before drinking or add some extra liquid and shake it up again.
